Review of Self titled CD "Michael Neill" by the Toronto Moon Magazine April 2013
Smooth and soulful, songwriter Michael Neill has a knack for writing catchy, melodic tunes that also contain a fair amount of substance. As you can hear on his self-titled full length cd (produced by the incomparable Steve Sherman), Neill has a way of drawing you in with slick melodies and keeping you glued to your music player with lyrics that resound truth.
One of my favourites from his album is the lead-off track, “Heaven Comes To Me”, which is a simple and beautiful yet not syrupy love song. A philosophical ditty, “Time Passes”, is also a standout.
